There’s a new issue of my newsletter Cut, Fold + Make going out tonight that includes a modern miniature calendar for you to make.
It’s a quick and simple project.
You can sign up to receive it with the newsletter link on the right.
It’s a good way to keep track of yourself in sequential time.
And, there’s a party going on to celebrate the new year and new pergola being built at Modern Miniature Succulents + Sundries. All the furniture from Sea House Warming Hut has been dragged over, and there’s a beach driftwood fire blazing, as well as festive beverages. Come on by! It’s been too long since we’ve all hung out together.
PS: Godzilla will be there.
Godzilla is actually Smiling!!! :D
Happy New Year to you Nancy and Thank you for the invitation to visit with you there under the pergola. Such a different climate than here in Vancouver, Canada where we are currently experiencing mountains of snow!?
Sitting outside by a driftwood fire is not something I’ll be doing here anytime soon, so I think that I shall come down and join you there! ;P
All the VERY BEST in 2017!
Thank you, Elizabeth! The pergola is sort of an all weather event state of mind thing, where a driftwood fire keeps everything cozy. Your mountains of snow are just beyond the periphery, and there’s plenty of seating close in. Do make yourself comfortable! The new moon just set, but Venus and Mars are still bright in the sky. Cheers to 2017!
Happy New Year Nancy! I hope you have a great party with Godzilla.
Thanks, Judy! Godzilla is a little shy, what with his massive spiny tail and all, but he likes the sushi. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Thanks to noisy fireworks and too much sugar, the dinosaurs are still awake at our house. Perhaps they could continue the party with Godzilla at yours.. I read the referenced May Sarton poem earlier in the evening – just lovely!
Happy New Year to you, too, BW! Wakings will be wakings, and for me they’re harder and harder to predict. I’m glad you liked the May Sarton… like her, “I feel like an inadequate machine, a machine that breaks down at crucial moments, grinds to a dreadful halt, ‘won’t go,’ or, even worse, explodes in some innocent person’s face.”
I’m on my way!
I concocted a new cocktail last night…half Bailey’s, half Cointreau…I’ll bring some.
Squishy lizard is going to tag along, he wants to meet Godzilla.
Well alrighty! A comfy chair close to the fire is reserved for you’alls. There is a special squirrel pitcher for your new cocktail. Fitting, right? All manner of guests are welcome :)
OH thank you for the calendar, I’m excited to put it together!
We also celebrated the New Year’s coming with Godzilla which somehow seemed quite fitting at the end of such a tumultuous year. My daughter preferred Gamora and Samurai Jack but we all enjoyed the gyoza and sushi rice.
Welcome, Christina, and ha! One of the earliest sushi places in Santa Cruz was called Godzilla’s, and it was beloved. http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/494816/Mothra-Movie-Clip-Secret-Fairies.html
