Rounding out +Sundry baskets, here is the final Toto2 basket prototype. There are at least two handle styles possible, and I played with the idea of basket hardware.
I improved the proportions from the first Toto, and experimented with lid types.
Here is the first article. It’s Minwax Golden Oak stain and W&N Promarker Marsh Green.
Tomorrow, light and electricity permitting, I’ll be able to photograph the instructions and shop listings. There’s a big windy storm blowing in, and with the ground already saturated… Everything will be alright.

The new Toto baskets are wonderful…….but where is Scarlett?
Ha, Joyce, thanks! Scarlett is here, there, and everywhere. Right now she’s on my shoulder, having intuited the most counter-productive spot possible. Her super power.
Your work is GENIUS! I love ALL of the color combinations and especially the duo flip lid- your baskets just keep getting better and Better! :D
Gosh, Elizabeth, thank you! Now I want to see someone make a great picnic or farmers market basket scene. Food stylists, you know who you are!
Brilliant! My favourite basket to date, although I keep wanting to call it the “Toto too” after the line in the movie near the end.
Whoa, Barbara, whoa. “Toto, too’ is totally the line (and the voice) I was going for with the name; I just thought Toto2 was more leet or something. Anyway, I’m glad you like it! I think it will serve a goodly variety of purpose.
wow! these look simply great!!!
Thanks, Marion! Some classics never go out of style :)
Okay, these are my favorite. I’LL TAKE MULTIPLES.
PICNICS EVERYWHERE. Thanks, Blake :)
Just adorable and so realistic, great job! Maybe you need a mini Toto sitting next to it. ;)
Thanks, Bennie! I just saw in the HBS contest that Susan Perry-Hinkle did an Over the Rainbow build, but I don’t think I saw Toto there, either :)
This basket style is delightful…I am picturing a red and white gingham cloth, sandwiches, fruit and lemonade. It would also make a wonderful knitting basket…uh oh…the ideas are starting to flow…a great basket design!
Yes, yes, yes, Alayne! And thanks!
Oooh… I’m going to end up with several of these I can tell.
Looking forward to seeing what you’ll do, Sheila! And congrat’s on your HBS contest OM!
So excited!!! I love the green accents. :D
Thank you, Brae. We had a family picnic basket when I was growing up that looked very similar :)
These look perfect for picnics! They’d be so fun to make a scene with! :)
Picnics and beyond, Kristine! If I had space on my work table, I’d be getting out the Fimo :)
I love options…and love the handles on the white basket. Thoughtful design is appreciated. :D
