New Tenants in the Old Sea House Leadlights building!

Well this is exciting! Studio Inki is moving into the old Sea House Leadlights building. (Leadlights needed more space and moved into the imaginary milking barn near the Warming Hut.) Interior design planning is in process, and will feature an open concept to maximize the abundant natural light and epic views. The famous Leadlights-designed windows and doors will remain. “I still really love them,” enthused the new owner.

At this point, the adobe and brick fireplace on the side deck will remain largely unchanged, aside from a thorough cleaning and new limewash. I’m very looking forward to actually completing the set of Kris Compas estate chair kits with the Pescadero thrift store dress fabric upholstery… very Studio Inki.

Thanks, Sheila! It felt like a bold step to give it new tenants, but I’m enjoying the upheaval and reimagining. And I seem to prefer to have at least three if not four-plus projects going on at any one time… Likely why my studio is *always* a chaotic mess :/

I, too, love Art Deco design. The geometries! The balance! The swoopy minimalist elegance! Always appropriate.

Hiya Bennie! Truth is, I’m rarely inactive with projects and explorations, but I did want to step away from social media. And I live in a small house and simply ran out of room for my imaginary land. Thank you for your support and encouragement!

Awww, thank you, Natalie! Glad for the resonance :) As for kits, miniatures.com carries a couple (boxes, folders, brown paper bags). If there’s one of the others (yucca, books, baskets) let me know and I can send you directly. (Glad you liked them — I did too! — just not enough other people did to make it all worthwhile.)

Speaking of kits, I’m building a couple now from Melvin’s, and they are so, so good. Yay go kits!

It’s starting to be good to be seen, and thank you! Takes a while to reacclimate; WordPress revamped their editor in the time I was away and … it’s, um, different.

The new tenants are a bit overwhelmed with the quirkiness of the old building — what’s up with that shallow loft storage platform?! — and have just decided to put up a new sign, but there’s steady progress.
