U: Until

U_until

U is for Until I Can Press Publish Again. It has also been for Unaccomplished: unfinished, unconcluded, undone, ugh. Unpleasant, as in occurrences and diagnoses. Understanding, as in where has my mojo gone? Oh.

There is a new kit of pointy-leaf echeverias over at MMS+S. It might be the best ever. Check it out.

U is also for unique, as in your talent, vision and eye for the inspiration around you. Unfortunately not unique is your creative block, which is sadly shared and which I attribute in part to unsettling times. So nice to hear from you again.

    • Nancy Enge says:

Aw, Fran, thank you for the props. I’ve come to think of creative blocks as part of the whole process, or cycle. (Doesn’t exactly make fallow periods nicer, but does help calm my inner critic.) The expectation of constant happy production is… a myth.

So good to hear from you, I was starting to get worried. It was good to see your blog again, I forgot what letter you were at. :)

We all go through creative blocks, we’re here for and with you my long distance friend.

    • Nancy Enge says:

I had to look to see what letter I was on, too. And then happily delete all the half-written posts and boggy pictures :)
I think *getting through* the blocked passages is what it’s all about, yes?
It sure is good to be through and back, though :)

So lovely to read a post by you, Nancy! You appear to be having an interesting summer. Make the most of it,and don’t let the Unpleasant take up more space in your life than it has to.

    • Nancy Enge says:

Thanks, Megan! Life is *always* interesting (especially considering the alternative :) and I’m having many opportunities to practice countering Unpleasant. Thanks for that, Life?

Maddie Lou looks fabulous dressed as a “bad guy”, and what a lucky girl to have this experience!
Hoping the “diagnosis” is a totally manageable one, and that you’ll feel inspired to share more good stuff in more frequent postings!

Your photos are lovely, nice to have a post from you. The new kit looks unglaublich! (That is incredible spelt with a U.). ;)

  6. Marilyn Ormson says:

I am in exactly the same place as you right now so I totally understand the ‘pause’. Wishing you well and an eventual return to messing around with minis… and other good stuff. Meanwhile check in now and then if you can.

    • Nancy Enge says:

Marilyn, thank you, and I know *you* understand. Every now and then we get fresh opportunities to learn how we are made. I guess. Part of my whole purpose in writing this blog is to share an unvarnished experience about the creative process, (with as little whining — whinging — and platitudes as possible). Our community of like-minded makers keeps me going :)
