Here’s one side of Janet Granger’s adorable elephant tea cozy (teacosy). Stitched on 32-count silk gauze with Anchor stranded cotton, it will be 1.5 x 1.125 inches (4 x 3 cm) when finished. If I do (someday) make one on 49-count, at 49 x 36 stitches it would be… like an inch wide by less than that tall. Might be just too much cuteness packed into that small of a space.
And the deadlines, how brightly they burn!
You do amazing stitch work.
Bennie, thank you! The real talent is the designer, for concept, optimizing sketches for needlepoint, and choosing colorways. Good stitching just means not being in a hurry :)
It’s awesome to see the actual kit, pictures on Janet’s site don’t do them justice. I was eyeing the different tea cozy kits but I settled on 2 pillows. Might have to look again at the tea cozy section!
Her stuff is so well thought out and documented! I want to do the ginger cat next, maybe as pillows :D
Adorable is right :)
Who knew, right? We all get squizzy around creatures — squirrels, lynx, meerkats, goats — but Janet Granger’s elephant is really a sublime design.
