Another new species of succulent! I’m classifying this one in the sempervivum genus. Also, I’m working towards putting these (and others) into production, as both kits and potted specimens, in my Etsy shop! You can peek through the window here. I’ve been sourcing some great planters and containers for both inside and out, as well as classic terra cotta pots. Wish me focus and follow-through!
I really like the color combination of these succulents, and I think that by adding the stems you have giving them the realistic height variances which they’ll need when crowded snuggly into a pot.
Elizabeth, thank you! Adding stems makes them resemble some of the succulents in my own garden, and allows the opportunity for some sculptural dynamics. And yes, I think succulents are happiest when snuggled into a pot :)
I love the colors. They’re going to look wonderful in their little pots. Hide them from Scarlett!
Thanks, Sheila. I noticed this particular colorway in a garden on my way to the grocery store. The high shelf I have all my prototypes and works-in-progress on is heavily barricaded to the side, but I think we all know there is no hiding from Scarlett :)
Oh yay! I find your plants experiments fascinating and would love a kit option.
Yay oh yay, Christina! The basic construction technique is simple; it’s the coloring and shaping of the leaves that takes the most time and care. Plus, I love kits :)
An Etsy shop? Really? How wonderful!
Glad you think so, BW! I need something to focus on now that I’ve accepted I cannae build another build in my current space.
Oooh, pretty! :D
Thanks, Brae!
I wish you great success in your new Etsy endeavor! I think it’s just the start of your mini creativity blossoming into so many amazing kits!
Thank you, Jodi, for your well wishes! I am excited for new beginnings, including a newsletter of miniatures tips and creative inspiration. (Sign up!) It eases the pangs of regret at the thought of not doing builds with everyone :)
